Usama Al-Binni was awarded the Paul H. Stelson Fellowship for Beginning Research. These fellowships honor Paul Stelson, who was director of the physics division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and was also an adjunct professor of physics at UT from 1967 until 1992. He served as a mentor for the careers of many young physicists and his family established this award to assist aspiring scientists in completing their graduate education while building on the strong relationship in physics research between UTK and ORNL.
