Physics 231 - Fundamentals of Physics: Electricity and Magnetism

Labs

Lab Scores

Lab scores will comprise 25% of the final course grade.

The lab sections of Physics 231 are conducted by teaching assistants, who serve as Lab Instructors under the direction of Dr. James Parks, Director of Undergraduate Laboratories. While lab work will be graded by each Lab Instructor independently, an effort will be made to ensure a uniform grading policy across different lab sections. Lab make-ups are entirely at the discretion of the Lab Instructor and arrangements for such must be made with that instructor.

Lab Schedule

The official lab schedule is available as a pdf file. To view it requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available here.

It is important to note that the sequence of lab exercise topics does not follow the sequence of topics in the lecture sections. This is intentional and is intended to give you hands-on experience and familiarity with important topics prior to encountering the theory material in lecture.

Lab Repeat Policy

There exists an official departmental policy on repeating the lab section of the course when the course is repeated. Read about it here; scroll to page 21 of this pdf document. Alternatively, here is a snapshop of that page:

Lab Repeat Policy

The deadline to get this done for Spring Semester, 2004, is January 28.
