This page is an update on our various UT Physics graduates. We encourage alumni to keep us updated on their curent positions and projects.

Robert Blaunstein (Ph.D., Physics) Chevy Chase, Maryland. Managing Director, Seneca Environmental Management, Seneca Insurance Company. Dr. Blaunstein manages pollution underwriting, consulting, and claims operations.

John T. Ellis (Ph.D., Physics, 1987) Huntsville, Alabama. Director, Sensor Systems for CACI International, Inc. Dr.ÊEllis' department is responsible for design, development, and operation of optical (primarily infrared) data gathering sensor systems and associated high bandwidth data processing, transmission, and storage systems; reduction and analysis of optical imagery and signature data; real-time and post-test data fusion with other optical and rf systems; and missile seeker hardware-in-the-loop testing activities, all related to missile defense research and development.

Dennis G. Hall (Ph.D., Physics, 1976) Rochester, New York. William F. May Professor and Director, University of Rochester Institute of Optics. Dr. Hall serves as chair of the Institute of Optics, an academic department with approximately 100 undergraduate majors pursuing a B.S. in optics and 100 graduate students (75 of whom are pursuing a Ph.D. in optics). In the 1995 National Research Council ranking of doctoral programs, the Institute ranked 25th out of 147 physics programs in the overall rankings. Dr. Hall has also received two undergraduate teaching awards and has supervised to completion 14 Ph.D. theses and six M.S. theses.

Philip W. King III (B.S., Engineering Physics, 1966; M.S., Physics Major/Math Minor, 1968) Knoxville, Tennessee. Coordinator, Honors and Awards, Lockheed Martin Energy Research Corp. Mr. King is in charge of coordination of initiatives to nominate staff members, especially scientific and technical staff, for prestigious honors.
