Fall 2019 Women in Physics Luncheon

The Fall 2019 edition of the once-per-semester department-sponsored Women in Physics Lunch was held on December 5 at the Student Union. Undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty attended. For about two hours we talked about several issues, including future plans for graduating students, the increasing number of female undergraduates, and the positive ways in which such a peer group impacts the students' classroom experience. Several undergraduates talked about why they decided to study physics and why they chose UT as the place to do it. Ideas on how to achieve the same level of female participation in the graduate program were discussed. The next Women in Physics Lunch is going to be on April 27, 2020. Mark your calendars and be on the lookout for the invitation that will be sent in April.
